Who we are

About Us

Young Patriotic Lieutenants (YPL) is a Community-Based Organisation (CBO) established in 2025 in the Coastal Region. We work to promote peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and community security, while supporting drug and substance abuse prevention and rehabilitation. Our organisation advocates for climate change mitigation, environmental conservation, and sustainable livelihoods, and promotes Blue Economy awareness for the sustainable use of water and coastal resources. We empower youth through leadership development, entrepreneurship, skills training, and mentorship, while fostering social cohesion through community engagement and social activities. Additionally, YPL supports charitable and humanitarian initiatives, including disaster response and community relief efforts.

Mental health challenges and disabilities often lead to exclusion, stigma, and discrimination, which weakens community cohesion, limits youth empowerment, and hinders sustainable development efforts such as peacebuilding, environmental conservation, and social support initiatives.
